Bio - COL Earl Noble
Colonel
Earl Noble has served as Project Manager for Army Knowledge
Online/Defense Knowledge Online on Fort Belvoir, VA since June 2008. In
this role he is responsible for the Army and Defense portals that serve
2.3 million users. COL Noble also oversees the Area Processing Center,
Defense Messaging System – Army and Acquisition, Logistics and
Technology Enterprise Systems and Services product offices.
He began his career in 1985 when he was commissioned in Field
Artillery, served tours with 1st Cavalry and 2nd Infantry Divisions, and
worked his way up from Fire Direction Officer to Battery Commander. In
1992, he joined the Army Acquisition Corps and operated computer
networks for the U.S. Army Field Artillery School and the Army Test
Command. Later, he became Assistant Project Manager for Bradley
Fighting Vehicles, which then followed a tour in the Pentagon with the
Army’s Objective Force Task Force. COL Noble was selected in 2003 as
Product Manager for Defense-Wide Transmission Systems and travelled
around the globe providing communications support to the Warfighter. In
2004, he assumed responsibility for coordinating communication projects
in Afghanistan and in the Green Zone in Baghdad. He returned to the
Pentagon in 2006 to serve as Executive Officer to the Deputy for
Acquisition and Systems Management and then as Director of Future Force
Integration.
COL Noble’s military awards include the Meritorious Service Medal
with 3 Oak Clusters, the Combat Action Badge, and the Army Staff Badge.
COL Noble holds a Master’s Degree in Strategic Studies from the Army
War College, a Master’s Degree in Computer Engineering from Clemson
University, and a Bachelor’s Degree in Geology from Eastern Washington
University.
COL Noble is married to the former Tina McCormick, and they have a
daughter, Marian, a student at Bridgewater College, and a teenage son,
Jim.
