Bio - Dan Porter

Mr. Dan PorterDaniel Porter is Executive Vice President of the Enterprise Technologies and Services (ETS) Business Group of CACI International Inc, a professional services and information technology (IT) company with fiscal 2008 revenue of $2.42 billion. He is responsible for all aspects of his group’s business.

Mr. Porter has more than 35 years of experience in providing IT solutions for the Department of Defense. His business group serves clients that include the U.S. Navy and Air Force, the Defense Information Systems Agency, the Department of State, and the Department of Homeland Security. His group’s employees work in more than 100 countries, on projects ranging from managing classified defense networks to providing fleet engineering and logistics support.

Mr. Porter joined CACI as a Senior Vice President in 2004 as part of the American Management Systems acquisition. Prior to his appointment to head the ETS business group, he led a key CACI operating group that expanded the company’s business with the U.S. Navy, Marine Corps, and U.S. Coast Guard.

Before entering the federal IT contracting industry, Mr. Porter enjoyed an outstanding career as a U.S. government civil servant, culminating in his appointment as Chief Information Officer to the Department of Navy. In this position, his strategic thought leadership was instrumental in developing Navy IT strategy and policies.

Mr. Porter has been the recipient of numerous awards and honors, including the Secretary of Defense Medal for Meritorious Civilian Service and the Department of the Navy Distinguished Civilian Service Award (the Navy’s highest honorary award), and he was conferred the Senior Executive Service rank of Distinguished Executive by the President of the United States. He is a Civilian Materiel Professional.

Mr. Porter holds a bachelor of science in physics from Bethany College, a master of science in ocean engineering from Columbia University, and master of science in engineering management from Catholic University. He also completed the Executive Excellence Program at the Federal Executive Institute in Charlottesville, Virginia.
Mr. Porter lives in Leesburg, VA with his wife Jeanne. They have three grown children and two grandchildren who also live in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area.
