Bio - Lew Sandford
Lew Sanford Jr. is the Director in
the CIO-Office of Innovation responsible for Special Projects &
Experimentation. He is actively involved with geospatial
technologies, use of biometrics for identity proofing, information
architecture and a variety of technology and process initiatives
across the agency. He is an active proponent for use of open source
and social media. Most recently he served as the Senior Program
Manager for the Geospatial Line of Business at the Federal Geographic
Data Committee (Department of Interior, US Geological Survey). He has
served as CIO, U.S. Attorneys at Department of Justice; E-Gov Program
Executive & Chief Information Architect for General Services
Administration; and Deputy CIO for Public Buildings Service –
nation-wide; and extensive business application development,
integration and management consulting in the private sector. Lew is a
‘Trailboss’ program graduate and a member of SIM-Society of
Information Management.
