Bio - Michael Kush
Michael F. Kush is a graduate of the US Military Academy (BS) and Middlebury College (MA). He served 27+ years in the United States Army in a wide variety of command and staff positions, in Vietnam, Germany, Austria and CONUS. His assignments included command at all levels from Platoon through Squadron in Infantry, Armored Cavalry and Armored units, and in peace and in war. He has served on the Joint Staff and as Associate Professor of German at the US Military Academy, West Point, NY. In August 1990 following his promotion to Colonel and a War College Fellowship at Stanford University's Hoover Institution, he was assigned in Germany, where he was the Deputy Chief of Staff for Host Nation Relations (G-5) for the Commander-in-Chief, US Army, Europe. Upon his return to CONUS in 1993, he served with the Army’s Office of Congressional Liaison before retiring from Active Duty in 1994.
Mike joined EDS in October 1994 and served as the Director of Marketing Analysis for Military Systems until October 1998, when he was promoted and became Vice President, Marketing and Strategy for the newly formed Government Industry Group in Herndon, Virginia. Mike subsequently moved to Vector Research, Inc. (now TechTeam) in 2001 and focused on business development for the Defense Programs Division. In December 2002, Mike joined Capgemini Government Solutions as the Army Account Executive and has been responsible for growing and expanding Capgemini’s efforts throughout the Army.
Since he entered the information technology world in 1995, Mike has also been active in numerous professional organizations, including the Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association (AFCEA), the Association of the US Army (AUSA), the Government Electronics and Information Technology Association (GEIA, now TechAmerica) and the Industry Advisory Council (IAC). In the AFCEA Washington DC Chapter, Mike served as the Chapter’s President from 2007-2008; as the Chair for GEIA’s Defense Team, he guided that team’s efforts in analyzing the DOD IT Market for more than 8 years and currently leads the Services and Support Team.
