Bio - Michael M. Singer
Mr. Singer was President of Distributed Solutions, Inc. (DSI), a leader for 17 years in acquisition lifecycle management solutions to the Federal Government. Prior to DSI he was Vice President of Avaya’s Federal Business Unit from 2005 through 2007. In this capacity he was responsible for Avaya’s worldwide federal practice of 280 people and $200M in annual sales. Prior to Avaya, he was the Senior Director of Government Sales & Marketing for Adobe Systems, Inc. He was responsible for directing Adobe’s sales strategy and business plan for worldwide government business. Prior to taking on this role, Mr. Singer was Director of Sun Microsystems software sales in the Americas from 1998 to 2003 and Managing Director of Sun’s Government Software Group from 1992 to1998. Previous to Sun, Mr. Singer held various sales and management roles with Apple Computer’s Federal Systems Group from 1986 through 1992.
Throughout his career Mr. Singer has created and led successful sales and marketing organizations that contributed significant market growth and incremental revenues to the companies he represented. With over 25 years of experience in the information technology industry, he has been recognized repeatedly for his contributions to sales, marketing, executive level management and leadership. He is also a featured speaker at numerous IT industry events, a lecturer at The National Defense University, and quoted in various trade publications.
Mr. Singer resides in Great Falls, Virginia with his wife Elaine and their two children Alex and Elena. As a Washington, D.C. metropolitan area resident he is highly active in the local community. He is Chairman Emeritus of the Board of Directors for the USO of Metropolitan Washington, Vice President and a member of the Executive Committee for the Board of Directors for the Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association (AFCEA), an Honorary Member of the Faculty at the National Defense University and an Honorary Commander in the United States Air Force. He is a member of The Industry Advisory Council (IAC) and the National Defense Industrial Association (NDIA).
