Kelly A. Miller - Bio

CURRENT POSITION:  Mr. Miller is the National Security Agency/ Central Security Service (NSA/CSS) Associate Director of Engineering (TE).  Mr. Miller holds the functional title NSA/CSS Chief Systems Engineer.  TE has two primary functions:  a) ensuring there exists a coherent, comprehensive Cryptologic Architecture that provides relevant guidance to the Intelligence Community and a corresponding NSA/CSS Enterprise Architecture (EA) relevant to NSA/CSS managers and implementers, and b) defining an NSA/CSS Enterprise Systems Engineering program and associated processes that enable responsible, effective implementation and/or acquisition of the capabilities needed to instantiate that EA, now and in the future.

EDUCATION:  Mr. Miller graduated summa cum laude from the University of Akron, Ohio, with a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering; the engineering curriculum incorporated a cooperative education program with NSA/CSS.  He also graduated from the University of Wisconsin, Madison, with a Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering.  Mr. Miller has performed additional coursework in Communications Theory, Information Theory and management.

PRIOR POSITIONS:  Mr. Miller has served as program systems engineer for many systems, large and small, and has traveled extensively, fielding equipments and systems to the majority of NSA/CSS and partner sites worldwide.  Mr. Miller has worked as a systems engineer and successful manager in both industry and the government, having left government service to work in industry for over a decade before returning to the government.

PROFESSIONAL BACKGROUND:  Mr. Miller is a licensed Professional Engineer.  He has taught engineering, mathematics and technical courses at several local universities for over 10 years.
