William Shealy - Bio
Mr. Shealy has over 27 years of experience in the Information Technology industry and is currently assigned as the Private Sector Representative for the Federal Emergency Management Agency located in Washington DC. He functions as the primary interface between the private and public sector areas when the National Response and Coordination Center is activated. When the center is not activated, Mr. Shealy develops new technical and business strategies to further FEMA’s efforts in the public/private sector arena.
When not serving as the PSR for FEMA, Mr. Shealy is the Senior Solutions Architect for Verizon Federal. He has over 12 years of experience at Verizon in the Information Technology industry and has been actively involved in global, large-scale program management, systems integration and telecommunications practice areas along with the evolution of the international and managed services solutions within the federal government business sector. Other responsibilities within Verizon include Verizon Federal’s Cloud Computing initiatives and Service Oriented Architecture implementations. Mr. Shealy’s past projects at Verizon have included development of their national high speed 100G network, passive optical networks (FiOS) as well as their business continuity and recovery methodologies.
Prior to joining Verizon, he had 15 years of experience with Renex Corporation as a systems engineer, designing WAN/MAN/LAN equipment as well as developing transition strategies for companies migrating from a mainframe to local area network environment.
