Also joining Mr. Hancock is Pete Ladowicz, Industry Liaison for DHS S&T who will elaborate on the department’s collaboration with the private sector.
The Cross-Agency Defense & Security Emerging Technologies Working Group (ETWG), staffed by AFCEA DC, is a year round forum designed to unite government, industry and academic technology executives and thought leaders in the region - for ongoing ethical dialogue, education & programming involving emerging technology issues.
The ETWG will arrange meetings throughout the year with CTOs and Advanced Research experts from various agencies in the Military, Intel, Homeland Security, and Civilian Security. During these small group meetings, the ETWG members and government representatives will engage in ‘deep dive’ technology discussions and, when appropriate, engage in problem-solving or market analysis exercises to help advise government leaders on issues they are currently facing.

About the Cross-Agency Defense & Security Emerging Tech Working Group, staffed by AFCEA DC:
The Emerging Tech Working Group strives to create partnering forums to allow large prime contractors and small-to medium-size companies learn about each others capabilities and needs and encourage best-practices in partnering to ensure the Nation's Defense & Security establishment has full access to innovation & technological advancement, even in trying economic times. The ETWG will also engage the venture capital/M&A/banking community, and encourage them to provide insight into how large companies and government agencies can effectively engage with venture-backed companies and help advise AFCEA small businesses on financing, growth and exit strategies.
