PANEL 1:
Government Tech Hunters & Gatherers Panel
Priorities of CTO & Operational Executives who Gather Reqs, Hunt for Emerging Tech, and Integrate, Integrate, Integrate

Panelists will explore how they identify the unmet needs of their agencies, go on the hunt for new technologies to meet those needs, and then integrate them into the enterprise.  They will discuss the sometimes contrasting jobs of bringing on mission-related innovation, with the need to seek out technologies that will improve efficiency, reduce costs, and increase performance. They will discuss their methods to receive input from within the Service/Agency, to engage industry proposals that meet requirements, and to evaluate one against another.  The Panel will identify ways in which they believe government decision makers (both management and acquisition), and industry executives can make acquiring emerging tech an easier process for all parties involved, and reveal where silos are standing in the way of progress. And finally, they will provide insight into their organizations’ technology roadmaps, and preview how they intend to maintain an edge in a time of austerity.
