The 2011 AFCEA DC Next Generation
MOBILE Technologies Symposium
Security, Interoperability & Innovation:
Mobile Technologies in Service to the Mission
Mar 17, 2011 -- Capital Hilton, Washington, DC
The AFCEA DC MOBILE Symposium will focus on the potential that mobile
and wireless technologies offer for meeting the operational mission, as well as for improving business operations and
training. The speed at which commercial mobile is expanding presents
both challenges and opportunities for today’s Military Services and the
Federal Government.
While mobile devices, networks, and
applications enable individuals to have rapid access to real-time
information, situational awareness, effective training, medical,
technical, and back-office resources, they also present very real
challenges in the field and at home. We continue to struggle with
ensuring that information is subject to analysis, assurance, and
authority; that communications are secure and interoperable, and
identities are assured; that data-at-rest is protected; that service
denials don’t cripple our ability to act; and, that we strike a balance
between policy and flexibility with regards to devices, plans, uses,
architecture, operating and development environments.
Our five
Services, DoD Joint Agencies, the Intel Community, Homeland Security,
and the rest of the Civilian Federal Government are simultaneously
examining this same set of opportunities and challenges. Through the
AFCEA DC MOBILE symposium, we seek to provide a platform for military
& government leaders to share their goals, needs, requirements and
challenges with a large audience of professionals who can help achieve
the mission of serving and protecting America, through greater access to
the mobile future. -->Read More
