Spring Leadership Award Nominations

 
AFCEA DC Leadership Awards


Submissions Deadline now extended to March 21, 2011, 12noon



Criteria:
The nominee must have been a member of the armed services, either reservist or active duty between January 1, 2010 and December 31, 2010, and must have made a significant contribution to the Warfighter through the use of information technology.  Awards are made to one enlisted and one officer from each of the armed services (US Army, US Air Force, US Coast Guard, US Marine Corps, US Navy) and four awards are made for those serving in Joint billets during the time they displayed leadership.  Special consideration will be given for decisive bravery.

Evaluation:
AFCEA DC Awards subcommittee will evaluate all candidate information submitted to ensure they meet the criteria.

Selection:
An executive committee of retired flag officers will make final selection, with representation from each service (USA, USAF, USCG, USMC, USN).

Presentation:
Award recipients will receive recognition from AFCEA DC, identifying their contribution to the Warfighter.  The recipients will then be recognized by industry and their peers at the AFCEA DC 2010 Spring Leadership Awards Gala Dinner, celebrating Armed Forces Day, to be held on Thursday, May 19, 2011 at the Hay Adams Hotel, Washington, DC beginning at 6pm.  Then the awardees will be publicly acknowledged before a large audience at an AFCEA DC Luncheon on Friday, May 20, 2011 at the Ritz Carlton Pentagon City, Arlington, VA (adjacent to the Pentagon).  We hope the awardees will attend the Gala Dinner and Luncheon in-person to be recognized, but if deployed, they may send a representative to accept the award on their behalf.
