Please mark your calendar for the 2nd Annual AFCEA DC Spring Leadership Awards Gala, which will be co-located this year with the National Science Center (NSC) Charity Golf Tournament.  Slated for September 29, 2009 at the Golf Club at Lansdowne, VA and sponsored by AFCEA DC, AFCEA International, and Redskins Radio/ESPN980, this event will salute our Warfighters for their service and dedication, as well as provide recognition for their contribution and sacrifice in defending our nation.

As part of the program, AFCEA DC will recognize a member from each branch of the military that has made a significant contribution to the Warfighter. This recognition will be given to two members (one enlisted and one officer stationed anywhere in the world) from each of the Armed Services – US Army, US Marine Corps, US Navy, US Air Force, US Coast Guard – who have made a significant contribution to the Warfighter through the use of information technology. Special consideration will be given for decisive bravery.

The Spring Leadership Awards Gala will include:

The Golf Tournament and Spring Leadership Awards Gala have combined forces this year to benefit the NSC.  The NSC provides services to America through partnerships, promoting hands-on experiences to make teachers effective and students successful.  Established by Congress, the NSC is our nation’s chosen catalyst to create and inspire the Next Generation of scientists, engineers, inventors, and explorers.
