This year the Corcoran highlights the work of one of our
generation's most recognizable photographers -Richard Avedon - and his
images of elite government, media, and labor officials, with activists, writers,
artists, and ordinary citizens caught up in national debates: Portraits of Power.

Plus Human Comedy: Satirical Cartoons, American & European landscapes,
European sculpture, and a sobering reminder that while we celebrate the
season of Joy, we must not forget that our fight of terrorism is an ongoing
sacrifice for both the U.S. and others around the globe who still live with its
after-effects: Wounded Cities - photographs by Leo Rubinfien.
