The Young AFCEANS of AFCEA DC are pleased to announce the Spring offering of our professional development program which is the third in a series dedicated to delivering a valuable forum for learning, networking and growing professionally. The Spring program will focus on understanding Systems Integrators: how they are organized, how do they identify business opportunities, and how can you position you and your company to work together with these contracting giants.
Young AFCEANS will learn about the roles performed by key individuals in the large SI’s, what the responsibilities of these key individuals are, and how best to align yourself and your company to ensure success when you are attempting to work with the SI’s. As in past events, attendees will break out into small groups to listen to speakers from each category;
- Business Development
- Capture/Proposal
- Small Business Office
- Partner/Vendor Alliances
- Recruitment
Please join us immediately following the event for happy hour and for additional networking with your peers and our speakers. Each speaker has been asked to bring 2-3 members from their team to join us.

The Professional Development Program provides an opportunity for Young AFCEANS to meet with executive leaders from military, government and industry to discuss a variety of topics that are top of mind for young professionals. The ultimate goal of this program is for Young AFCEANS to walk away with additional tools and/or references to assist in their own career progression.
This program is managed and coordinated by the DC Young AFCEANS with support of the AFCEA DC Board of Directors. If you would like to participate on this committee or recommend a topic for future programs please email Lon Lane.
