West Point Ethics and Leadership Conference

westpoint p1The Young AFCEANs of The DC Chapter are proud to support the WEST POINT Ethics and Leadership Conference

The West Point Ethics and Leadership Conference brings together over 150 high school juniors from the Capital area to discuss the leadership and ethical challenges the face every day under the guidance of cadets from the West Point Academy. The event kicks off with keynote speakers challenging the students with examples of how ethical behavior and proper choices, or lack thereof, have been important in their careers and, more importantly, how those decisions impact those in their sphere of influence. The students break into smaller working groups with the cadets serving as facilitators/leaders and discuss a series of vignettes, or ethical dilemmas that they may face either as students or as members of society. Students are given an ethical framework that they can use to analyze these and future situations

We are seeking volunteers (March 7 2013, 9AM – 5PM)

westpoint p2We need Young AFCEANs to assist the cadets during the working group sessions. Our volunteers will work with the cadets to keep the process moving and ensure that we follow the ethical framework presented. Volunteers will meet with the cadets and go through a short training beforehand. Our volunteers will be provided with certificates of recognition for themselves and for their company which can be awarded at future AFCEA DC events. Please contact Andrew Shulman if you are interested in participating or need more information: youngafceans@afceadc.org
