Two weeks away from coming home for his sister's wedding

On March 27, 2012 the Mid-Atlantic Region lost another Hero who was serving his nation in OEF/OIF.  Sgt. Joseph D'Augustine was two weeks away from coming home for his sister's wedding when he was killed in Afghanistan's Sangin district of Helmand province, a fierce battleground where 19,000 Marines are deployed.  Hundreds of residents lined the streets of his town as as police escorted home a hometown wrestling and football star who would be laid to rest at age 29.

Let us not forget the sacrifices of his family, and let us not forget that we are still a Nation at War.
