In September, the chapter resumed its monthly panel series with a focus on defense leaders. Lt. Gen. Jeffrey A. Sorenson, USA, chief information officer (CIO)/G-6, Headquarters Department of the Army, moderated the panel, which included Maj. Gen. (Sel.) George J. Allen, USMC, director of command, control, communications and computers and CIO, U.S. Marine Corps; Rear Adm. Bob Day, assistant commandant for command, control, communications and information technology, and incoming CIO, U.S. Coast Guard; John J. Garing, CIO and director of strategic planning, Defense Information Systems Agency; and Gregory Gardner, deputy intelligence community CIO, Office of the Director of National Intelligence. More than 350 people attended the event.
